Convert FileMaker Data API to flat file array

Needs changes

Needs changes. This template uses 3 thing(s) that n8n 3.0 removes: Item Lists (legacy), Function Item (legacy), Function (legacy). 3 breaking item(s) found. Static check, last run 2026-10-19.

What this workflow does

This workflow has 3 nodes and runs from “FileMaker Data API Contacts” (no trigger node, so run it manually or call it from another workflow). It uses only n8n's built-in nodes.

How it runs

Trigger: From “FileMaker Data API Contacts” (no trigger node, so run it manually or call it from another workflow).

  1. FileMaker Data API Contacts (Function): runs custom JavaScript (legacy Function node)
  2. FileMaker response.data (Item Lists): reshapes item lists (legacy Item Lists node)
  3. Return item.fieldData (Function Item): runs custom JavaScript per item (legacy Function Item node)

Before you upgrade to n8n 3.0

3 things in this workflow are removed in n8n 3.0. Fix them before you upgrade:

  • Item Lists (legacy) in FileMaker response.data: replace with Split Out, Aggregate, Sort, Limit, Remove Duplicates or Summarize (match the operation used).
  • Function Item (legacy) in Return item.fieldData: replace with Code node, mode 'Run Once for Each Item'.
  • Function (legacy) in FileMaker Data API Contacts: replace with Code node, mode 'Run Once for All Items'.

Rather not rewrite it? Many of these flows can be rebuilt in Make (free plan).
