Extract and decode Google News RSS URLs to clean article links
Ready for 3.0What this workflow does
This workflow has 10 nodes and runs manually, when you click “Execute workflow”. It uses only n8n's built-in nodes. It also calls news.google.com over HTTP.
How it runs
Trigger: Manually, when you click “Execute workflow”.
- Reading Google News RSS (RSS Read): reads an RSS feed
- Limit: keeps the first few items
- Get encoded news URL (HTTP Request): calls an HTTP API
- Extract decoding keys (HTML): parses or builds HTML
- Map needed keys (Edit Fields (Set)): sets 3 fields: signature, timestamp, base64Str
- Prepare decoding variables (Code): runs custom JavaScript code
- Call decoding URL (HTTP Request): calls news.google.com (POST)
- Decoded url (Edit Fields (Set)): sets 1 field: google_news_url
- Aggregate: combines items into one
HTTP calls to: news.google.com
Scraping pages by hand? Firecrawl is a simpler option (10% off for new users).
Before you upgrade to n8n 3.0
Nothing in this workflow is removed in n8n 3.0, so it should import and run after the upgrade.
