Needs changes. This template uses 2 thing(s) that n8n 3.0 removes: Function (legacy), Cron. 2 breaking item(s) found. Static check, last run 2026-10-19.

What this workflow does

This workflow has 8 nodes and runs on a schedule (legacy Cron node). Along the way it connects Google Calendar and Trello.

How it runs

Trigger: On a schedule (legacy Cron node).

  1. Get Start & End of day (Function): runs custom JavaScript (legacy Function node)
  2. Get Todays Events (Google Calendar): get many
  3. Split Events In Batches (Loop Over Items (Split in Batches)): loops over the items in batches
  4. Set Trello Card Details (Edit Fields (Set)): sets or maps fields
  5. Remove Recurring Tasks (If): checks a condition and branches into true / false
  6. Create Trello Cards (Trello): uses Trello

Services it uses

Google CalendarTrello

Before you upgrade to n8n 3.0

2 things in this workflow are removed in n8n 3.0. Fix them before you upgrade:

  • Function (legacy) in Get Start & End of day: replace with Code node, mode 'Run Once for All Items'.
  • Cron in Trigger Every Day at 8am: replace with Schedule Trigger.

Rather not rewrite it? Many of these flows can be rebuilt in Make (free plan).
